Scholarship America
The Virginia Carolinas Scholarship Foundation Trust has partnered with Scholarship America to administer the Harmon E Broyles Scholarship. Scholarship America collects and ranks all applications, and submits finalists to the scholarship committee.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the scholarship, as well as selecting the final recipient based upon the finalists recommended by Scholarship America. The committee is comprised of three members, with each member residing in, and representing either Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina. The position for the representative from North Carolina is currently vacant, however, we anticipate filling that role soon. All members of the committee are volunteers, and donate their time and resources to make the scholarship possible.
Thomas Kepley, Jr.
Chairman, State of South Carolina
Thomas graduated from The University of North Carolina with a B. A. (Economics) and New York University with a diploma in Financial Management. He has over 35 years experience in the financial services industry. Thomas currently manages both individual and institutional investment portfolios in the southeast. He currently serves as the chairman of the scholarship committee, and represents the State of South Carolina.
Tommy Kepley
Commonwealth of Virginia
Tommy Kepley is a Virginia Tech engineering student, and currently represents the Commonwealth of Virginia on the scholarship committee.
Corporate Trustee
The Virginia Carolinas Scholarship Foundation Trust is managed by our corporate trustee, New York Private Trust Co. of Delaware, NJ.
